Compliance Specialist

Princeton, New Jersey

The MIAX Exchange Group (“MIAX”) is currently looking for a Compliance Specialist to join the Compliance Division of MIAX.  The specialist will assist the Chief Compliance Officer (“CCO”) in administering the compliance program at MIAX with a focus on the equity and options markets.  The primary responsibility of the Compliance Analyst is to administer a compliance program that monitors the exchange trading systems for compliance with SEC and exchange rules and regulations with a primary focus on the Exchanges’ Regulation SCI program.

Responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with Regulatory, Technology and Operations on systems changes and potential SCI events
  • Providing relevant information to the SEC, including keeping the SEC apprised of systems changes and SCI events
  • Supporting the incident management process with regards to MIAX ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Developing internal policies and procedures
  • Assisting in the preparation of responses to regulatory inquiries, inspections and examinations
  • Providing legal and regulatory guidance regarding exchange, SEC, and FINRA rules
  • Providing legal and regulatory guidance regarding market structure
  • Drafting new rules
  • Drafting comment letters
  • Managing relationships with SEC regulators on behalf of the exchanges
  • Participating on industry-wide committees
  • Advising senior management on the regulatory impact of strategic initiatives
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or other related field preferred)
  • JD degree a plus
  • Four years professional experience in a Compliance or Technology role preferred
  • Strong understanding of electronic trading systems is a plus
  • SEC or SRO experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of securities laws
  • Strong knowledge of equity and options market structure
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.  Advanced Excel skills highly desired.

Equities Regulatory Analyst

Princeton, New Jersey

The MIAX Exchange Group (“MIAX”) is currently looking for a Regulatory Analyst to join the MIAX Regulatory Department. The candidate must possess a detailed understanding and knowledge of equities and capital markets, including the applicable laws, rules and regulations enforced by MIAX and the Securities Exchange Commission.  The analyst will be involved in the review of real time market and exchange issues and will conduct both real time and post trade reviews and investigations.

 
Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring of MIAX real time alerts
  • Conducting regulatory reviews using MIAX proprietary and industry data
  • Communicating potential issues and unusual behavior to direct supervisor, senior officers and member firms
  • Interacting with MIAX’s Regulatory Services Provider (“FINRA”), other Self-Regulatory Organizations (“SRO’s), the Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) and members of other MIAX departments when necessary

Project Manager

Princeton, New Jersey

We are currently seeking a full-time Project Manager with a thorough understanding of the project life-cycle, particularly related to technology.  This position will report directly to the Vice President of the Project Management Office.  
This position is responsible for the oversight of assigned projects within the organization supporting multiple securities exchanges.  Projects will span the organization and will include technology infrastructure, systems functionality, corporate acquisition and integration, administrative and financial.  The successful candidate must be able to manage numerous and diverse projects simultaneously, requiring strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and successful interaction with personnel in all departments of the organization including administrative, technology, legal, finance and regulatory.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and delivering on multiple projects from initiation to completion.
  • Monitoring and managing risk for daily technology change management.
  • Leading meetings with numerous departments.
  • Providing project guidance to all employees assigned to projects according to best practices and documented project management standards.
  • Reporting project status and issues to company management.
  • Recommending process, staffing and other changes to improve the quality and timeliness of deliverables.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated project management skills in a technology oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated accomplishments as a project manager.
  • Experience with public speaking and meeting management skills.
  • Experience with software development and infrastructure projects.

Senior Business Analyst

Princeton, New Jersey

We are currently seeking a Senior Business Analyst with experience in business requirements writing and a background in the US Equities marketplace. This role is primarily focused on creating, documenting and implementing innovative business solutions for trading platforms from inception to launch and post-launch. The ideal candidate will be a team player, capable of working with other team members in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple competing priorities to deliver projects in a timely fashion.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Creates detailed functional requirements and specification documents
  • Strives to gather feedback from the technology, legal and operations teams to deliver a high quality work product
  • Investigates facts and designs innovative solutions that address customer and business needs
  • Creates product marketing material and collateral for internal and external users
  • Designs comprehensive test cases for business functionality, peer reviews the Test Case Framework to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Provides timely status to management on initiatives, identifies risks and proactively recommends solutions 
  • Part of team responsible for day to day exchange operations
Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, Specialized second degree in a relevant discipline is a plus
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in gathering and writing business requirements
  • Subject matter expert in a function with proven ability to drive and deliver business projects
  • Understanding of day to day operations at an Exchange and/or at a Trading firm 
  • Experience with creation of test cases and competitive analysis
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent problem solving skills
  • Sound understanding of the software development life cycle
  • Self-motivated and capable of working in a fast paced environment
  • Working knowledge of the US Equities landscape is a plus 
  • Understanding of order routing strategies is a plus
